Buellforums 1st Annual Slay the Dragon event, April-08

Big thanks to Dragonslayer for getting the 1st BF Slay The Dragon event off to a great start. He did a great job keeping things together. We know the 2nd one will be even better.
"This is so true. Riding the dragon at a sane pace teaches you so much about corner entry speed, lean angles, weight
shift, and choice of line. It's not the best place to learn how to ride fast (that would be on a track) but it's a
great place to get crazy lean angles at under 30 mph.
For anyone who hasn't ridden it before, try this exercise: Go to an empty parking lot and ride up the middle of one
lane at 30 mph, then hang a full turn 180 degrees to the left and end up on the far left of the next lane over (ie,
the tight side). Now do this for 11 or so miles. Oh yeah, and make sure it's a parking lot with a 14% downhill grade
and turns that go from on-camber to off-camber midway through.
Seriously though, it's a great road. Very well maintained, and a lot of fun to ride.
The campground was very nice as well. All in all a great 800 mile weekend." -Natron Bomb
Erick Buell in OZ, April -08

Erik Buell was in Australia last week & for those of us that went & met him it was an excellent time had with excellent people.
Erik Buell was in Australia last week & for those of us that went & met him it was an excellent time had with excellent people.
Erik is a champion bloke, I can't put it any better than that.
From the minute he walked in to the time he left, nothing was too much trouble.
He just walked in off the street & mingled with everyone. There were absolutely no restrictions at all.
I don't think I even saw Erik go inside the shop.
I'll never forget that day – twas perfect.
& Buell people - what an excellent group of people. I've been on a few Buell gatherings now & they are always a great experience." -Aussie XB12SS
