my 2000 x1 lightning lost all of its power on the park way. it will still drive but it seriously lacks horsepower. when i turn the throttle the bike sputters. this is a recent problem and im not sure whats causing it. its not throwing any codes... anyone have any ideas?? i was thinking maybe a fuel filter clog? Today I received my Factory service manual and oil filter from Buell Parts.net. I'm doing the 620 Mile service at 1350 miles....but anyway. The oil level on my 1125 as delivered from the dealer was up to the overfull mark(completely not surprised) so I had drained some out a few days after I brought it home. Hey everyone, Im new to the Blasting scene bought a 2002 a couple of weeks ago. This website is invaluable, learning much. Ive seen posting for directions on how to install Ulysses hand- guards on the Blast and like the idea but would like to see a picture of this mod on the bike. Last November I bought a Uly to make the trip to Fairbanks on the Alaska Highwy and the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway. To help plan the trip I got the Book the Mile Post which has the route and info about each place along the route.
Two of my son's asked to come along. That created a problem. The one son only had two weeks vacation. This changed the trip from a casual ride to a iron butt speed fest.

I went to check it out today and it seems in pretty good shape. There are some small nicks and such, but its used bike, so its expected.
